The vast world is full of wonders.
We call them the wonders.
For, they are the sights that appear amazing
because of their uniqueness on different aspects.
Many are the overwhelming gifts of Nature.
While some have been created exclusively by man.
And when we talk about the Seven Wonders of the world,
things which flash on our eyes from the pages of history
are all man-made pieces of wonders.

In fact, these wonders
can be regarded as some architectural
and sculptural milestones of
the ancient Mediterranean and Middle East,
as listed by various observers.
The best known are those of Antipater of Sidon,
one mathematician named Philon of Byzantium.
Included on the list in its eventual form were the following:

 Pyramids of Giza;  Hanging Gardens of Babylon; Mausoleum of Halicarnassus; Temple of Artemis;
Pharos of Alexandria; Statue of Zeus; Colossus of Rhodes.

Each of them is indeed an amazing feat and creativity and was created in the ancient period when technology
was still at its infancy. And each of them is a piece of
engineering marvel, standing still now as an ancient historical monument. These are called the
classical wonders of the ancient world.

However, man's passion for creativity never stood still.
The seven wonders of these antiquity inspired
the compilation of many other lists of attractions
by successive generations. Some of the great wonders
featuring in most of those lists are given here in
More Wonders.
